Ian will discuss the key factors in the sustainable development of Wellington’s waterfront and how it reflects the city’s culture, heritage and personality. He will also present a case study of the thinking, planning and execution of the Waitangi precinct development – a dramatic marriage of practicality and imagination.

Ian Pike is Chief Executive of Wellington Waterfront Ltd, a council controlled organisation with responsibility for managing and developing downtown Wellington’s 20-hectare waterfront. He has been with the company since March 2004 and comes from a wide-ranging and successful career in property acquisitions and management. He holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia, Bachelors of Property Administration and Commerce and is an Associate of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers. Ian is also vice-president of the Wellington branch of the Property Council of New Zealand.
