The inaugural WaterfrontExpo 2003 was, by all accounts, a great success. Over 600 delegates, visitors and exhibitors from 41 countries registered. Countries represented: Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belgium, Cameroon, Canada, China, France, Germany, Ghana, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Latvia, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey, Turks & Caicos, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the USA.
A very intensive and varied conference programme featured 13 waterfronts from around the world: Bahrain, Cape Town, Dubai, Dublin, Edinburgh, Gdansk, Istanbul, London, Melbourne, Philadelphia, Portsmouth, Qatar and Toronto. There were a further 11 papers - mainly on technical issues related to waterfront development. The total number of speakers was 38. Extremely positive feedback has been gathered from delegates and speakers - both in terms of conference content and the quality of speakers.

The exhibition, with 40 booths, was well received by all and great interest was shown by visitors and delegates. Exhibitors expressed their surprise at having met such a wide mix of international waterfront-related professionals.
