WaterfrontExpo 2008 | The conference

The WaterfrontExpo 2008 Conference, 3 – 5 November 2008

WaterfrontExpo has established a deserved reputation for providing an excellent and diverse programme of waterfront case studies and generic presentations and 2008 will be no exception.

The 2008 theme is ‘Connecting people with the waterfront’ and we have carefully selected 11 major case studies plus other presentations which draw on the experiences of large and small urban areas in bringing people and the water together.

The geographic spread of the case studies is global, ranging from Brisbane, Puerto Rico, San Francisco and Shanghai, to Belgrade and La Spezia in continental Europe, and Irvine Bay, Liverpool and Margate in the UK.

We are also delighted to announce that the world famous architect – David Mackay – the man who played a key role in transforming the Barcelona waterfront – will be our keynote speaker.

In addition, there will be a range of generic presentations examining ways of attracting people to the waterfront, while for the first time at WaterfrontExpo, a series of Special Sessions will examine the finance and investment situation for waterfront projects. There will also be a full programme of site visits and networking receptions, plus a series of guides tours for delegates’ partners.
